Tony Murnin

Anthony E. Murnin, 53, of Bethlehem Township, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Fountain Hill on July 26, 1955; son of the late William Murnin and Philomena Tarole Abd-El-Bary of Bethlehem and preceded in death by his step-father, Dr. Mahmoud Abd-El-Bary. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Susan Fritz Murnin.

Tony was employed by Apollo Metals, Bethlehem, as a finishing helper for 28 years and worked part-time for Home Depot, Bethlehem. He was Chief Shop Steward, Local 2599-22 for United Steel Workers Union and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Bethlehem, Jefferson Democratic Club and the Northeast Wanderers. He graduated from Milton Hershey School with Honors where he was a member of the Choral and Theater Groups. He also attended Northampton County Community College.

Tony will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sue; mother, Philomena; sons, Anthony, Matthew and Michael; daughter, Erica Murnin; brother, William; and sister, Nancy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of Connell Funeral Home, Inc. for an education fund that will be set up for Tony's children.
