Trottey G. “Sharkey” Kostic, 93, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Lukes Hospice House. Born in Freemansburg, he was the son of the late George and Bessie (Fritchman) Kostic. He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy (Koch) Kostic who died in 2010; they were married for 59 years.
“Sharkey” worked for the Bethlehem Steel and was a US Navy WWII Veteran who served aboard the LST-1. He was a member of the Jefferson Democratic Club, the Wanderers A.A. and of the former St. Matthews Lutheran Church. He loved fishing and was an avid fan of Penn State, the Phillies and the Eagles.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Trottey “Terry” Kostic, Jr. and his wife, Donna; daughter, Victoria A. Gaugler and her husband, Barry; brother, James; sisters: Ruth Thatcher, Elaine “Betty” Clark and Janet Siegfried; grandchildren: Nicole, Korey, Michael, Jarred and Kerri; and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Floyd.
Viewing hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service, all at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. Burial with military honors will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
