Veronica Baker

February 3, 1938 — February 20, 2025

Salisbury Township

Veronica M. Baker (nee McGrath), 87, of Salisbury Township, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Saucon Valley Manor.

Veronica will be dearly missed by her husband, Jack, daughter, Jennifer B. Sacks (husband Darrell), and son, Jeffrey C. Baker.

Born February 3, 1938, in the lovely village of Adare, County Limerick, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (nee Hoare) McGrath.

In addition to her parents, Veronica is preceded in death by her brothers, Nesson and Tony, and her two sisters, Maureen Beattie and Kathleen Ward and by her parents-in-law, Charles H. and Mildred F. Baker.

On a visit to friends in Philadelphia in 1966, Veronica sat next to Jack on the plane. They were married a year later. It took plenty of courage to leave the country and family that she loved and start a new life across the ocean.

She became a US citizen on the Bicentennial, July 4, 1976. A fearless and caring animal lover, Veronica was the proud mother to pet dogs, cats, geese, ducks, and raccoons. She loved the outdoors especially on cool, crisp days.

Her nieces and nephews were Michael, Andrew, Angela, Declan, Aidan (Kathleen Ward, sister, and brother-in-law Ben), Patricia, Laurence, Joanne, and the late Brian Beattie (Maureen Beattie, sister and brother- in-law George), Eric and Kirsten (Manfred Schmidt (brother-in-law) and the late Lana Schmidt (sister- in- law).

Services were held privately. Online condolences may be offered at www.connellfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Morris Animal Foundation.
