Veronica E. Davco

Veronica "Ronnie" E. Fertal Davco, 89, of Bethlehem died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Gracedale in Nazareth.

Born May 11, 1920 in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Veronica Basista and Stephen Fertal. She was married to Frank J. Davco with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage before he passed away on July 16, 1997.

Veronica was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at Gus's Crossroads as a waitress. She was an avid bowler who was inducted into the Bethlehem Bowling Hall of Fame. She was excellent at crocheting, making ornaments and afghans for her family. Veronica was a member of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish in Bethlehem and the National Sokols.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Janet wife of James Bartos and Francine wife of Michael Slivka, son, Ronald Davco, sisters, Mary Parenti and Anna Mae wife of Thomas Klopack all of whom reside in Bethlehem. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Novatney and two brothers, Stephen the 2nd and Emery Fertal.

SERVICES

A calling period will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, from 8:30-9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation of our Lord Parish 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, at 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Veronica's name to Gracedale RD #1 Gracedale Nazareth, PA 18064 or Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke's 1510 Valley Center Parkway-St. 200 Bethlehem, PA 18017.
