Veronica Mary Batley

Veronica Mary "Ronnie" Batley, formerly Sr. M. Dorothy Joseph Batley of the Sisters of St. Joseph, 69, of Bethlehem died on Tuesday, July 19, 2011.

She was born February 5, 1942 in Hellertown; the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Dorothy A. Latch Batley.

Veronica was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School. She later became a Sister of St. Joseph and taught elementary school at St. Ursula, St. Theresa and Holy Infancy.

Veronica was dedicated to helping others and enjoyed caring for family and friends. She was currently working as a home health aide for Maximum Care Group.

She will be dearly missed by her sister, AnnaMae B. Timko and her husband Gerald J. and her brother Joseph G. Batley, Jr. and his wife Georgianne all of Bethlehem, nine nieces and nephews and twelve grandnieces and grandnephews.

Veronica was a member of the Monacacy Field and Stream Assoc., Fraternal Order of Eagles and the St. Bernard's RC Beneficial Society where she was Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 AM on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Family will receive friends in the church from 9 am until the time of service.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
