Vigermina "Virgen" Santiago

Vigermina “Virgen” Santiago, 73, of Bethlehem passed away suddenly Tuesday December 3, 2013, at St. Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem. She was born on April 9, 1940, in Corozal, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Jose Fermin Berrios and Maria Ines Burgos. She was the wife of Heriberto Santiago. They celebrated 46 years of marriage on December 25th of last year.

Virgen was a devoted member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church in Bethlehem. She was also devoted to her family as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to cook and watch her novellas.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Berto, son, Freddie Santiago and wife Julie of Bethlehem, daughter, Nitza Santiago Yerger, and husband William Yerger III of Allentown, sisters, Alba Berrios and Norma Aguirre both of Bethlehem, granddaughter, Sunique (her princess), and sisters and brothers in Puerto Rico.

A prayer service will be held 9:15a.m. Monday, December 9, 2013, at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA.18018, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10a.m.at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA. 18015. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 7-9p.m. at the funeral home.
