Vilma M. Righi, 84, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday May 1, 2011. Born in Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ on December 14, 1926, and residing in Alpha, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Astore and Amalia Massie. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Louis Righi.
Vilma was a life-long member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Colesville where she served as lector, sang in the choir, and was involved with the spaghetti dinner for 35 years. She was a member of the Sodality and Cursillo, and was a staple at the Se-Wy-Co Carnival. She exhibited the fruits of the Spirit, known for her gentle, kind and patient, giving and loving ways.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Louis of Bethlehem; son, Lawrence of Bethlehem; daughters, Mary wife of Paul Purdy of Warminster, and Rita wife of Stephen Hock of Bethlehem; brother, Gene Golini of Malvern; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Gail Ambrose and Eileen Fritz. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael L. Righi; brothers, Italo, Rolando, and Osvaldo Massie.
Viewing hours will be held in Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, on Wednesday, May 4th from 7 to 9 p.m. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 5th at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem 18015. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
