Vincent Joseph Koprivsek

January 18, 1917 — February 10, 2013

Vincent Joseph Koprivsek, 96, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday February 10, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, West Virginia. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing. He was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1917, son of the late Jerry and Mary (Zust) Koprivsek. He was raised and lived in Bethlehem for 92 years.

He outlived three brothers and two sisters, and is survived by his younger brother, Leo Koprivsek of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Stahl) who died in 1984, his son, Jerome Koprivsek who died in 1978, and his great-grandson, Creighton Munro who died in 2007. Through this family he is survived by their daughter, Mary Ann Haney with whom he resided for the past four years and her ten children, twenty-two grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Norma (Learch) who died 2007. Through this family he is survived by their daughter, Lois Lafferty, her two children and one grandchild.

He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel where he worked in the Saucon Plant as the supervisor of the Meter and Controls Department. He was a life-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was their choir director for thirty years. He assembled and led "Vincent Joseph and his Orchestra" from 1935 to 1982. He led a life full of music and laughter and took joy in creating beautiful sounds with his family and music students.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his sharp wit, sense of humor, and love of music.

To celebrate his life, an 11 a.m. Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 416 E 5th St., Bethlehem. Visitation will be held in the church on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
