Vincent "Vinny" Paul Bolcar, 75, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Kirkland Village, Bethlehem surrounded by his family. Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, he is the son of the late George Joseph and Elizabeth Begany Bolcar. He is the loving husband of Margaret Mish Bolcar, they celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this past June 23rd.
Vincent worked as an engineer for the former Western Electric, AT& T and Lucent Technologies in Allentown; before retiring in 1989. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School and received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Lafayette College.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Vince served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for four years and received an award for Airman of the year.
He was a member of AARP, Pioneers and Slovak Catholic Sokols. Vince was also an avid golfer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Margaret, daughters, Deborah, wife of Wayne Muller, Jane, wife of Jeremy How, Kathy, wife of John Laird, son, David Bolcar and his wife, Kathy, sisters, Cecelia Daniels and Bernadette Shive and eight grandchildren, Brian, Christopher, Matthew, Joshua, Alex, Zachary, Stephen and Rachel. He was predeceased by brothers, George, Bernard, Edward and sister, Dorothy Schisler.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18020. Visitation will be held, from 8-9:45 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem. Entombment will follow at Holy Saviour Mausoleum, Bethlehem.
