Virginia Livirrie

Virginia ?Ginnie? Livirrie, 92, of Bethlehem died on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 at Blough Health Care Center in Bethlehem. She and her husband David Livirrie, were married for 42 years. She was the daughter of the late Louis F. & Nellie Glahn Sordon. She was predeceased by her first husband, James Smith, in 1940.

Ginnie attained her degree in Journalism from Temple University in 1940 and her Masters in Education from Lehigh University in 1968. She taught school for the Bethlehem Area School District at both Liberty H.S. and Freedom H.S., retiring in 1982 as the head of the English department at Freedom.

She is survived by her husband David, sons Roy L. Smith and his wife Janet L.F. of Chapel Hill, N.C. and J. Lawrence Smith and his wife Elizabeth G. of Hutchinson Island, FL. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Casey M., Holly S. and Heather S. and 4 great grandchildren, Lilly, Kiernan, Flynn and Megan.
