Walter F. Reichard

April 8, 1920 — October 19, 2008

Walter F. Reichard, 88, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at

Holy Family Manor.

He was born April 8, 1920 in Bethlehem the son of the late Joseph and

Marion Reichard.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Anne L. DeSentis

Reichard of Bethlehem.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII aboard the

destroyer escort, USS Jobb. Walter was awarded a Bronze Star and

Philippine Liberation Ribbon for his contribution in the Pacific Theatre.

Walter retired from the US Postal Service in 1989 after 32 years of

service as a letter carrier.

He was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii of the Most Holy Rosary, Bethlehem.

Walter will be lovingly remembered by his family; wife, Anne; son Dennis

W. Reichard and his wife Gail of Bethlehem; sisters, Dorothy Kuzmin of

Bethlehem and Gloria Reimer of Allentown as well as four grandchildren,

Christine, Matthew, Mary and Mark.

He was preceded in death by his sister Vivian Ardelean and his brothers

William, Frederick, Clifford and Robert.

Walter's family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 7

to 9PM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem and again

on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 9:30 to 10:30AM in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 23,

2008 at 11AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem

PA 18017.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Manor 1200 Spring St.

Bethlehem PA 18018 and/or St. Anne's Catholic Church.
