Wayne B. Rummel, 65, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday October 2, 2014 at St. Lukes Hospital in Fountain Hill. He was born on November 23, 1948 in Bethlehem, son of the late Alex Rummel and Mary (Borovies) Rodriguez. He was the husband of Marie (Fodero) Rummel. They celebrated 48 years of marriage on May 3rd and were together for over 53 years. Wayne worked in the maintenance dept. for the Bethlehem Housing Authority and also was an iron worker. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church. Wayne was in Vietnam while serving his country in the US Army for 3 years. He was one of Pennsylvanias top fast-pitch softball pitchers- Class A. He was a PIAA basketball official for 30 years and former president. He was a member of the Allentown Municipal Golf Course, Jefferson Democratic Club, Heights AA, NE Wanderers, and BVFHA. He leaves behind a host of friends and family and will be dearly missed.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marie, daughter, Bridgett Rummel of Bethlehem, brother, Reed Rummel and wife Mary of Bethlehem, sisters, Nilda Magan and husband Steve, and Belma Vazquez and husband Joe, and Brenda Hill and husband Mark, all of Bethlehem, grandson Rodney Rollins Jr., and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Blaze and Julia Borovies, and an uncle, Richard Borovies.

Funeral services will be held 11am Tuesday October 7, 2014 at the Connell Funeral

Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa.18018. A viewing will be held from 7-9pm Monday evening and 10-11am Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
