SFC Wilhelmina Beverly, 34, of Fairburn, Ga. formerly of Bethlehem Twp. died January 24, 2011 at the Columbia Regional Medical Center in Miami, Florida. She was born on January 13, 1977 in Philadelphia, daughter of Wauneta Beverly and raised by Barbara Young of Bethlehem. She entered the US Army as a Medical Logistics Specialist in August 1996. She had assignments at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. In November 2002 she was assigned to 212th Medical Hospital in Miesau, Germany. February 2003 she deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, September 2005 she was assigned to Bravo Co., 187th Cadre at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Most recently she was assigned in March 2009 to Fort McPherson, Ga. and served a tour in Kuwait at the Operational Command Post from October 2009 to August 2010.
Her military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary, and Service Medals, the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Field Medical Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
Wilhelmina was a member of the Holy Faith Church and graduated from Freedom High School Class of 1994.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son Jamir A. Billings, and , daughter, Imani K. Nasir both of Fairburn, Ga., brother, Tillus Beverly of Wilkes Barre, Pa., sisters, Barbara Young and extended families of Bethlehem, Tamika Beverly, and Adrienne Beverly both of Philadelphia.
Funeral Services will be held 12:30PM Friday February 4, 2011 at the Ft. Indiantown Gap Chapel, Annville, Pa. 17003. A calling hour will be from 11:30AM-12:30PM at the Chapel. Burial will be held at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
