William "Buzz" Sawyer

William G. "Buzz" Sawyer, 58, of Allentown, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of Margaret (Ortwein) Sawyer and the late Thomas Sawyer, Jr. He was the owner and operator of the former Buzz's Caf and Sports Bar, Fountain Hill, and was currently employed by the PA Liquor Control Board and Steel Stacks, Bethlehem. He was an avid baseball fan and a 1996 inductee into the Blue Mountain League Hall of Fame. He was a 1977 graduate of Bucknell University.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret; son, Kevin; daughter, Emily; siblings, Thomas III, Jeff, Barbara Hill, Robert J. and Marybeth Romberger; many nieces and nephews; and his ex-wife, Maureen.

Services: 11 a.m. on Saturday May 4 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, it was Bill's wish that you take a child to a ballgame in his memory.
