William C. Kuplen

William C. Kuplen, 93, of Bethlehem, died on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Theresa (Danyi) Kuplen. William was the loving husband of the late Catherine D. “Katie” (Yurich) Kuplen; they were married for 66 years.

William proudly served in the US Army as a member of amphibious operations in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He worked in the Construction and Maintenance Dept. for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. at Homer Research Laboratory until his retirement in July of 1983. William was a parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church, Bethlehem. He was also a member of the Bethlehem MORA Club Chorus and the Hellertown American Legion. William was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he was an accomplished painter. He also enjoyed a good meal and Manhattan.



William will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, William F. & wife, Pamela and Frank & wife, Carol; brother, Frank Kuplen; grandchildren, Rachael Medero, Rebecca Minford, Tyler Kuplen, Emily Klados and Elizabeth Borino; and great grandchildren, Alexia, Anthony, Gabriella, Kaitlyn, Bella, Brayer, Yianna, Drake and Kallista. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Buchold.

A visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Holy Family Manor St. Ann Chapel, 1200 Spring St., Bethlehem, 18018. The entrance to the Chapel is on Prospect Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

William once wrote, “Ive had a great life, found a loving wife, fathered two fine sons and accomplished my dream. I am at peace.”
