William E. Antol

William Emil Antol of Bethlehem Twp, passed away on March 9, 2017. It was his 86th birthday; he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bethlehem; son of the late Joseph and Rosa (Mesaros) Antol. William was the loving husband of 61 years to Eleanor (Bandurich) Antol.

William was a graduate of Bethlehem High School and Vo-Tech. He went on to proudly serve in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon his return home, he began his career at the Bethlehem Steel Corp. He had a stellar work ethic, working in the 48” Rolling Mill for over 39 years. He was a life-time member of the Roosevelt Democratic Club and the Independent Citizens Club and a life-long member of the Steel City Gun Club. William was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter and gardener; and loved canning what he grew. One of his favorite things was spending time with family at his cabin on Lake Wallenpaupack. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Eleanor; children, William T. Antol, Tina M. Vince (David J.), Joseph M. Antol (Susan J. Stark) and John W. Antol (Diane); grandchildren, Derek, Briona (Grace), Michael (Heather), Brandon (Shelby), Alana, Leah, Chelsea and Daniel; great grandchildren, Tyler, Dakota and Blake; sister-in-law, Joan Vargo; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, John Antol, Margaret Pasternak, Helen Velekei and Joseph Antol.

Viewing hours will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St, Bethlehem, on Sunday, March 12th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. An 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 1st St, Bethlehem. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
