William F. Konrad

William F. "Pondsie" Konrad, Sr., 97, of Bethlehem Township died on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem. He was born in Bethlehem, PA and was the son of the late Frank and Mary Makos Konrad and the husband of Frances M. Clinese Konrad with whom he celebrated their 73rd anniversary this past May.

William worked for Bethlehem Steel in the print shop as a mechanic retiring in 1978 after 30 years service. He was a member of University Parish of Holy Ghost Church in Bethlehem and the St. Bernard's Club. William was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.

William will be lovingly remembered by his wife Frances Clinese Konrad of Bethlehem Township, son William F. Konrad, Jr. and his wife Loretta of Bethlehem Township, four grandchildren Dana Konrad and his wife Lisa, Kara Konrad and her fianc Jason Abruzere, Kenneth Porter and his wife Leslie and Guy Porter and his wife Andrea, three great grandchildren Dylan, Logan and Olivia Konrad.

He is predeceased by a daughter Frances Porter, three brothers Frank, John and Alfred Konrad and two sisters Julia Moyer and Margaret McNamara.

Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc, 245 East Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home.
