William F. Sterner

William F. Sterner, Sr., 79, of Bethlehem died, Monday, July 30, 2018 in his home with his family by his side. Born August 30, 1938 in Bethlehem he was the son of the late Barbara (Schadler) and Roland Sterner. He was married to Elizabeth (Butkiewicz) Sterner with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage this past October 10th.

William worked and retired from the U.S. Post Office as a mail handler. He also worked for Northeast Autobody. William proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Bethlehem. William was involved with the Special Olympics, the MORA Club and the Handicapped Bowling League at Town and Country Bowling Lanes. He also played fast pitch softball with the Ski Brothers.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elizabeth, son William Sterner and wife Tracy of VA, daughter, Debora Sterner of Bethlehem, two grandchildren, Noelle and Luke Sterner and his faithful companion Maggie. He also has 10 brothers and sisters.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 3rd at Notre Dame Catholic Church of Bethlehem at 11 AM. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Williams name to St. Lukes Hospice, 801 Ostrum St., Development Office, Bethlehem, PA 18015 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
