William J. "Buff" Kuti, Sr., 84, of Hanover Twp., Lehigh Co., died Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. Born October 10, 1922 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John M. and Mary Dudash Kuti. He was the husband of the late Janet Schaffer Kuti who died in 1978.
He worked for the Postal Service as a Railway mail clerk, city carrier in Bethlehem. He was also a rural carrier in Allentown until he retired in 1979.
He served his country during World War II flying with the 15th Army Air Corps completing 51 missions in the European-African Theatre. He received a purple heart, an Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and a European Theatre Medal with six Bronze Service Stars.
He was a life member of BVFHA and past House Chairman for 14 years and Board Member, a life member of the Jefferson Democratic Club and past House Chairman, life member of 540 Democratic Club and past Board Member, He was a life member of Lehigh Valley Veterans Association, a member of Westside Republican Club, life member of Heights AA, life member of Disabled Veterans Association, and a member of American Legion-Post 0945 in Wormleysburg, PA.
William attended Lafayette College where he played Baseball. He played for the City of Bethlehem Hungarian Catholic Club, Mountaineers AC. Hardball, Atlantic AC Hardball and was recruited to a Minor League Hardball team in Concord, NC. He also was an avid golfer who scored five hole in one?s during his life.
He will be lovingly remembered by: his sons, William J. Kuti, Jr. & wife Michele of Allentown; John Scott Kuti & wife Kelly of Allentown; Guy Steven Kuti & wife Maryann of Bethlehem; Michael A. Kuti of Allentown; daughter-Robin L. Fekete wife of Louis of Northampton; 10 grandchildren, sisters-Violet Loften of Colorado; Helen Yeakel of Hellertown; his significant other-Barbara L. Bedics with whom he resided with for the past 15 years of Hanover Twp., Lehigh Co., and his beloved dog Shelby. He was preceded in death by two brothers-John & Steven Kuti.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in the Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. till time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park, in Bethlehem, PA
