William M. Petko

January 17, 1931 — April 4, 2008

William M. "Bean" Petko, 77, of Bethlehem died Friday, April 4, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Michael & Mary Polak Petko. His wife, the late Catherine Sauer Petko died on July 3, 1993.

Bill was a member of SS Cyril & Methodious Catholic Church in Bethlehem, SeWyCo fire company, Hellertown American Legion and the International Turtle Club. Bill served his country proudly as an Army Combat Medic in the Korean War.

He had been employed at Chiles and Sillivan, Inc contractors from 1954 ? 1991. He was a master carpenter and mason. Bill loved his trade and took great pride in his workmanship. Although he faced many challenges in his life Bill never complained and was always glad to help others when needed. He also enjoyed his garden.

Surviving are two sons, William A. and his wife Jerri Lynn of Alburtis, PA and David of Bethlehem; a brother Francis of Bethlehem and a sister Anna Mae Kasunic of Allentown. He is also survived by four grandchildren., David J. Petko, Billy C. Petko, Jocelyn M. Petko Adam Dorney and a great-grandson, Seth Dorney.

Along with his wife and parents Bill is predeceased by brothers George, Michael, John, Joseph and Robert and sisters Mary Mish and Rosalie Troutman.

Burial will be at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Bethlehem
