William Ocasio Figueroa, 58, of Bethlehem passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY. He was the husband of Lynette E. (Novak) Figueroa; they would have been married for 38 years on May 24th. Willie was born in Maunabo, Puerto Rico; son of the late Bartolo Figueroa Silva and Santos Ocasio Figueroa.
Willie graduated from Freedom High School and served in the US Navy. He also earned his Associates Degree in Business Management from Northampton Community College. Willie worked for National Church Residence as a property manager at Clymer Village in Phillipsburg, NJ. He was previously employed by the Reading, Allentown and Bethlehem Housing Authorities.
Willie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bethlehem Ward. He was an avid football and baseball fan; he especially liked the Eagles and the Phillies. He loved to read and when he was younger Willie enjoyed playing softball and racquetball. He loved his wife and pets "Rocky" and "Peaches" and will be deeply missed by them.
Survivors: wife, Lynette; brothers, Danny Figueroa and his wife, Agripina; Sixto Figueroa; George Figueroa and his wife, Clotilde; Isaias "Sam" Figueroa all of Bethlehem and Anibal "Chubby" Figueroa and his wife, Karen of Bethlehem Twp.; his sisters, Luz Rodriguez and her husband, Teofilo of Bethlehem Twp. and Ana Miller and her husband, Rodney of Perryhall, MD. Willie was preceded in death by his son, William David Figueroa.
Services have been entrusted to the Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 9:30-11 am at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1881 Van Buren Dr. Whitehall, PA 18052 with a service to immediately follow at 11 am.
