William P. Bakos

William P. Bakos, Sr., 92, of Bethlehem Township, Miller Heights, died peacefully on Sunday, August 27, 2017. He was born in Bethlehem, son of the late Stephen and Lucy Bakos. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, of 60 years, Helen E. Bakos.

William proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. Upon returning from war, he began his career as a machine operator for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. and later retired from Luria Steel Products Corp. William was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bethlehem. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. William would often mention, “I did everything that I always wanted to do.”

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Bill Jr.; daughter, Deborah (Bakos) Stemrich; grandchildren, Joseph and Dana Stemrich, and William A. Bakos and great-granddaughter, Aria Stemrich.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home. Service will be private. Memorials may be made to the church.
