William P. Polak

William Polak, 82, of Lower Saucon Twp., died on Saturday, January 2, 2016. He was born February 2, 1933 in Bethlehem; son of the late Stephen and Anna (Onda) Polak. Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Grace (Cervellini) Polak.

Bill was a graduate of Bethlehem Vo-Tech and later he proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. In 1963, Bill became the owner and operator of Leamon Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. Prior to owning his own business, Bill worked at the Bethlehem Steel as a rigger. He was a parishioner of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, formerly Ss. Cyril and Methodius. Bill enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a lifelong NY Giants and Yankees fan. He was a humble and hardworking father and husband who led by example. He was very active and could often be found tinkering at his shop.

Family was important to Bill and he will be dearly missed by his wife, Grace; daughter Jayne Ann Bergeman and her husband, James of Coopersburg; David W. Polak of Bethlehem; and Matthew Polak and his wife, Alexandra of Coral Gables, FL; and four grandchildren, Julia Leigh and Nicholas James Bergeman and Emma Marina and Isabella Grace Polak. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Baron and brothers, John, Stephen and George Polak.

A visitation will be held at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, PA 18015.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church and/or School Sisters of St. Francis, 395 Bridle Path Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18017.
