William R. Davies

William R. Davies, 80, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown.

Born on May 21, 1942, in Allentown, he was a son of the late Lewis and Ella (McGinley) Davies.

William attended Allentown schools, then enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. Following his three-year enlistment, he received an honorable discharge from the military and went on to pursue his college degree. He received his Bachelor of Sciences in Business from the Smeal School of Business at Penn State University.

He worked for Trojan Powder for a number of years before joining Durkee as a purchasing agent. He retired from Durkee as a Vice President.

Outside of work, he volunteered at Lehigh Valley Health Network in their Infusion Unit, Bethlehem Assoc. Visual Impairment, and the AIDS outreach center. His biggest enjoyment was hosting his Annual Picnic for AIDS patients, blind children, and cancer patients.

He was a long-time member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his partner: William Bilotta, who died in 2019; two brothers: Thomas and Edward Davies; and one sister: Patricia Teevan.

William will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Patricia Farmer and her husband John, Sue Turek and her husband Mike, Kate Saul and her husband Don, Scott Davies and his wife Regina, Matt Teevan and his wife Amanda, and Jennifer Teevan.

A visitation will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 10:00am until the time of the memorial mass, in church, at 11:00am.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery following the memorial mass.

Arrangements are under the care of the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem.
