William S. Habakus

William S. Habakus, 80, of Stafore Dr. Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, in his home. He celebrated his 55th wedding anniversary with his wife, Louise M. Pulcini Habakus on May 10th. Born in Bethlehem in 1928, he was the son of the late, Steven and Helen Kila Habakus.

A 1957 graduate of Lafayette College, he was a maintenance foreman at Bethlehem Steel for 28 years, retiring in 1984.

William served his country from 1950-1952 during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army 2nd armored division as a Corporal.

A former member of the Bethlehem Steel Country Club, William was a golf enthusiast. His other interests included: cars, football and deer hunting.

Survivors: wife, sons, Stephen J. and his companion, Saundra Hoover, of Easton, PA; Ronald J. and his wife, Louise Kuo, of Red Bank, NJ; daughters, Lauri Ann and her husband, John Fetch of Thousand Oaks, CA; and Lisa Ann and her husband, David Appleby of Barrington, IL; seven grandsons and a granddaughter. A brother, Joseph and his wife, Virginia of Hobe Sound, FL;

two nephews and two nieces.

Services: A viewing will be held, Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem. Relatives and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Service and Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
